Hello,

I hope I've come to the right place to ask. I tried searching the forum before posting (as well as googling but no dice)

We've been running SQLA 17 Developer version for trial purposes the past few months. Looking to purchase the workgroup version with 5 seats. What's the activation process like?

Do I need to remove Developer and install the work group version or I can just activate it directly?

If so can you kindly explain how or point to a guide? I've looked around and don't see an option within to let me just put the key in and activate, etc.

Thanks much for your help.

See that question - it deals with version 12 but should apply to version 17, too.

Hey thanks for the reply Volker. Do you advise that Developer version be uninstalled or dblic to activate the key is sufficed?

I think in your case it would be sufficient to use dblic, as the installed software should already contain all licensed components.

You might then have a look at the newest service pack available in the SAP Support Portal (which requires a support contract AFAIK) since the Developer Edition is not necessarily that "fresh".

Thanks for your help!
