We bought a software while back and initially it came with Sybase. According to that software vendor, we now have to pay them additional $200 per workstation (x16) license to upgrade Sysbase v12 to v17 in addition to their software upgrade. Sales man didn't know exactly how this works, but am i correct to assume that the actual Sybase upgrade is for the server with client license, and the client app is free to download? asked 17 Jan '18, 14:12 itchibahn |
The SQL Anywhere server and client are included in the standard SQL Anywhere install and accessible with the appropriate license (registration) key. It is possible that the vendor is providing a custom install and/or is an OEM that includes a subset of the SQL Anywhere software. I would suggest that the vendor needs to address this topic if they are handling the acquisition of the licensing for the upgrade.
