I remembered having read Breck's enhancement request in the Innsbruck Beta forum. I perused the options dialog and there it was:

Compatibility -> Pressing the escape key clears SQL Statements and closes result sets.

Kudos to Sybase. I like it, when a company listens to their user's voice. Well done!
