I want to display information about progress from a SQL script using the MESSAGE command. When I use DBISQLC.EXE the command
will display the message in the statistics window. But with Java-ISQL (DBISQL.EXE) I don't see any message. asked 09 Nov '09, 15:12 Reimer Pods Breck Carter |
I posted the same question to the sqlanywhere.general forum and didn't get something solid as an answer. I will try opening a case (but it's no crucial problem, so an answer may take time too). In the meantime I use DBISQLC, which displays the message (but has some downsides). So I would like to do something like "close this question". Me thinks, accepting my own answer as "the one and only" would at least take my question out of the unanswered list. answered 02 Dec '09, 15:45 Reimer Pods |
Hi In 11.0.0.1264 & 10.0.1.3931 dbisql I get the message in the Results window. You don't by any chance have the Messages pane switched on (Options | Messages) and then have that minimized or hidden do you? Justin Willey answered 09 Nov '09, 16:44 Justin Willey Comment Text Removed
I have configured a separate message pane, but it shows only the execution time of the message command. The message text is nowhere to be seen. The result window is empty with '(no data)' as tab label Comment Text Removed
Still waiting for someone to come over with anything enlightening. Even if it were a technical explanation why the message can't get displayed. |
To be more precise: it's on my main machine where the message doesn't show (11.0.1.2331). On my second PC (Vista 32 SP2) it works. So it might be some kind of configuration problem.
