Please be aware that the content in SAP SQL Anywhere Forum will be migrated to the SAP Community in June and this forum will be retired.

There isn't much going on in the NNTP forums these days, nothing that will be missed, BUT... there is a wealth of old material that deserves to be imported into this forum.

...or is this forum going to be dropped, merged, zucked, S-A-P-peed, whatever, and it doesn't matter?

There isn't much going on in the NNTP forums these days,...

Well, until very lately, I still had the impression the NNTP forums got more postings than this forum (both on a rather low level). Now - for whatever reason - the tide seems turning.

What a waste to have two similar FAQ platforms for not too many questions...

Well, as the NNTP newsgroups are doomed to be closed in the near future - what about the plan to migrate their contents to this forum?

Yes, "We still don't know (*) / do not have had enough time" are accepted answers from my point of view:)

(*) Though that seems to be a facet of "S-A-P-peed"...

No decision has been made yet. We are still looking at a few options to keep the newsgroup archives available.

1) Migrating the content to this forum

2) Migrating the content to the SAP developer community site

3) Making the content available using some other method

Sorry I can't be any more clear/specific than that.

Every once in a while I get the urge to check out the SAP forums... but first I hide all the sharp knives.

Whatever the reason, it appears "doesn't matter" is the answer.

...or are you going to start your own poll? - Assuming that matters:(

"Silent Gary" might have a clue.

A down vote... how amusing! THAT will surely make a difference! :)

Better than a "Closed as off-topic" question, doncha think?

(No, it surely wasn't me down-voting:)

BTW: Still a "great feature": With enough reputation, one can check the up/down votes en detail:

Migrating the newsgroup information here is still on our list, but other projects have taken priority.

This isn't personal, but: After more than a year the official response lacks credibility. It might be "on the list", but so is CodeXchange and SDN and all sorts of other stuff that will never get done. It would be refreshing to hear "Sorry, this is it, enjoy what you have"... but that's not politically correct.

Sorry, it's the best answer I can give. It's still on my list of projects, and I don't have the authority to decide we're not going to do it. Until we decide otherwise, once the (finite) list of things above it in my priority list are done, I'll tackle this one.

(01 Jun '12, 12:26) Graeme Perrow

I know you don't set the priorities, your photo gives that away (no pointy hair :)

It's quite demoralizing to see that the new corporate emphasis on "social" turns out to mean ZuckFace and Twaddle...

...but, business is business, and I'm sure that SUP is bringing in the cash by the bucketful.

There is a web based NNTP archive currently running. It has all of the content from the newsgroups, and it's web searchable.

Not sure if it's been integrated into the sybase.com website, or how it will move to SAP.

Recommended reading - as the newsgroups are now really EOLed:

There's still hope, anyway:)
