Hi All, A client is wishing to move their website to use PHP 7 and is asking if there are any SQL Anywhere dll's for this. The resource we use usually use is here: https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-40537 There are none listed. I am just checking that there is nowhere else I should be looking. I did a search and don't see anything but hoped the learned people could definitively answer this. Thanks, Alasdair |

Hello, The page you linked to was the correct location where SQL Anywhere PHP DLLs were posted. That page has been archived as part of the SCN transition, and we will be creating a new page elsewhere. However, at present we do not have any pre-built DLLs for PHP7. I am investigating to see if this is something that we can provide. In the meantime, the source for the module is available on the page that was referenced, and it is possible for the client to build the DLL themselves with PHP 7. I will update this when I have more information. EDIT - A new page has been setup on the SQL Anywhere Wiki to host the PHP Modules. Have had conflicting advice on whether the source code will compile but might as well try it.

Hi All, Resurrecting this as it is still PHP 7. A client is wanting to update to V7.3 due to security issues in 7.1 and in testing has found that the 7.1 dll's are failing with most of the calls they make when used with 7.3. Wondering if there is a plan to release dll's for 7.3. In the meantime I have asked them if they can try compiling the source code themselves and see what they get but any updates would be appreciated. Regards, Alasdair 1
We just completed work on adding support for PHP 7.2 and 7.3. This will be available in v17.0 Build 4917. We expect that the software will be available for download in Q1 2019.

FWIW, The SAP SQL Anywhere PHP Module download page now also contains versions for PHP 7.2 and 7.3.

Resurrecting again as it helped last time with the update from Chris above. Is there an idea of when the 8.1 dll's might be available? Thanks We are not able to announce specific timeframes in advance of releases. If there are specific needs and business cases, we encourage you to communicate that ideally as a support incident so that we can ensure we are prioritizing appropriately. The PHP driver is offered under Apache 2.0 licensing. That is certainly an option if a precompiled driver is not yet available.

Thanks Chris. I have been in contact with support last year asking about this but they said they couldn’t help and it would just be released as and when. They did confirm it was planned and was going to be supported going forward. Version 8 is only in security support for the next 8 months and 8.2 has been released now so, in reality I am probably going to want 8.2 asap. Is there someone specific in support I could raise this with as our customers are pushing and whilst they can compile themselves their audit process requires the software to be supplied directly from SAP?
