We have discovered an issue with SQL Anywhere 12 Beta failing to remove all
of the SQL Anywhere Monitor components during uninstall. This problem
manifests itself by displaying an error dialog ("Could not start the SQL
Anywhere Monitor. Reason: dbspawn error -935. Unable to start specified
database. Log file error") when starting then SQL Anywhere Monitor after
installing SQL Anywhere 12 GA.

You may be affected by this issue if you:

- are running Windows
- have previously installed any version of the SQL Anywhere 12 Beta
- ran the SQL Anywhere Monitor while using the Beta

The steps to resolve this problem are:

******************************************************
If you are currently running the SQL Anywhere 12 Beta:
******************************************************

1. Uninstall the SQL Anywhere 12 Beta

2. Manually delete the following directory (if it exists):

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\SQL Anywhere 12\Monitor

Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\Public\Documents\SQL Anywhere 12\Monitor

3. Install SQL Anywhere 12 GA

****************************************************
If you are currently running the SQL Anywhere 12 GA:
*****************************************************

1. Try running the SQL Anywhere 12 Monitor. If the monitor starts without
error, you are not affected by the problem.

2. If the monitor does not start, delete the samonitor.log file found in:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\SQL Anywhere 12\Monitor\samonitor.log

Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\Public\Documents\SQL Anywhere 12\Monitor\samonitor.log

This issue only affects the SQL Anywhere Monitor that is installed as part
of a base SQL Anywhere install. We do not believe it affects the
stand-alone, deployable installation of the SQL Anywhere Monitor.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
