I am desperately seeking a copy of V8 of SQL Anywhere. Could anyone assist me in sourcing a copy? I searched a lot of sites on the web but still no luck in finding. Any help would be very much appreciated.

While I don't know why you need that specific version you might want to try the Developer Edition 9.0.2 found here: Softonic ASA 9.0.2. ASA9 is able to work with databases created by older versions.

@Reimer: For me, the link is not working - can you check that eventually? (No, I don't need that version...)

Thank you so much :) All of your replies were greatly appreciated. I downloaded the Softonic version and I got what I needed. Thanks a mill!

Downloads ok and is virus free, not sure if it's allowed on here or not but I guess we'll soon find out :)
