Yes, SQL Anywhere is supported on a wide range of platforms including HP-UX on Itanium. HP-UX on Itanium has been supported since 8.0.2. Prior to that we support HP-UX on PA-RiSC since 5.5.0.04 but we dropped PA-RiSC in 11.0.0 since HP no longer supports PA-RiSC hardware. Note that only the SQL Anywhere server and associated client libraries (dblib, dbodbc, etc) and command line tools (dbping, dbisqlc, dblocate, etc) are supported on HP - the java tools (Sybase Central, dbisql) and Mobilink are not currently supported on HP.

You can view the full list of OS versions on the SQL Anywhere Supported Platforms page.

Why is no HP-UX Itanium maintenance upgrade from 12.0.0 to 12.0.1 posted on http://downloads.sybase.com?

Prior to the 12.0.1.3469 EBF the most recent HP-UX Itanium download was the 11.0.1.2664 EBF over a year ago... which led to my confusion: "How can a 12.0.1 EBF exist with no 12.0.1?"

A 12.0.1 EBF can be applied to a 12.0.0 installation given certain conditions, which I believe should always be met on HP-UX.

Similarly, on UNIX platforms, the 12.0.1 GA release (which should be obtainable) is exactly the same as the "maintenance upgrade" and can be applied to upgrade the 12.0.0 release.

I'm not sure why the "maintenance upgrade" copy was not posted. Somebody is looking into it.

FWIW I pulled this platform out of the "living dead" "other" category up into the "active" state :) http://sqlanywhere.blogspot.com/2011/10/latest-sql-anywhere-ebfs.html

The HP-UX Itanium Maintenance Patch from 12.0.0 to 12.0.1 has now been posted to the Sybase EBF website.

Thanks Breck!
