Using SACommand on different DB versions

Hello, all I wish to use async functions available in the SACommand class in my .NET v4.7.2 program. My question is - if I use the latest SAP.Data.SQLAnywhere from version 17.0.10, will it also work when the DB server is from version 16 (client machine can be updated if required)?
