According to the status page, version 12.x will reach its EOL at the end of this year, aka 2016-12-31.

Can I expect version 12.0.1 will be kept in "active" state until then, or are there plans to put it into a "limited" state in the coming months?

Put differenty: Can I expect that version 12.0.1 will get the same "fix efforts" as newer versions during this year, as long as these fixes would apply to its codebase?

It appears that the "Active" status for 12.0.1 is currently correct and will remain that way for a while. Possibly right up (or close) to the announced EOL date.

The status for 12.0.0 was wrong so we will be changing that mistake shortly. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I'm not aware that I have hinted at something wrong here, I'm not using 12.0.0... - is that version now "limited" or "archived"?

Aside: That's a general problem with this SAP online documents - you can't see the previous version/version history:(
