As I learned from Breck in his answer to this question SQLA and storage system snapshots SQLA provides an agent for Microsofts VSS Copy technique.

Does also an agent exists to use NetApps Snapshot technique?

FWIW: The VSS agent for Microsofts Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is not new, it was introduced with version 11.0.0.

Yep, that doesn't answer your question...

So many goodies under the (my) radar ;-)

If NetApps' Snapshot uses Windows VSS then the answer is Yes. If not, then No. I do not see any documentation that indicates how they have implemented the snapshot so it is difficult to answer this question.

Also note that SQLA VSS solution is a Windows only solution - it does not work on any of the Unix platforms.
