The Sybase Central -> Help > About is showing a 3757 version for the SQL Anywhere 12 plugin after a silent install of the EBF 3769 in a 32bit workstation. Customer is not reporting any issues at this point and already has rebooted the box. Does it indicate any issues when SA12 was originally installed? |
This situation is indicating that the version of "saplugin.jar" was not updated during the EBF install. It is likely that there was a file handle being held open on the file system when this happened (since scjview may be loaded in the background). Ensure that scjview.exe is not running in Task Manager, and re-try installing the EBF update. 1
...Or the installer has classified the jar as a "modified" file and therefore has not tried to replace it, as I have had issues with - cf. this FAQ "What might prevent a JAR file from getting EBF'ed...

Is that the only workstation reporting the issue?
Could it be that the ISQL was loaded when the EBF install run?
Would ISQL prevent the patch to be successfully installed?
@Nico, I had 12.0.1.3484 installed in a XP workstation.
Left ISQL and Sybase Central loaded and ran the EBF 3797. Selected "Ignore" when Files in Use displayed.
The update ran fine and all installed plug-ins are listed now as 3797 version.
