I'm trying to add a couple of resources to SA Monitor. In the add resource menu, it tests the connection successfully, but it will not start it after clicking creating it. The error is as follows:

Monitoring could not be started. Please try to start monitoring manually.

I've tried starting it manually, but it does not work. I've even re-installed SA Monitor, and I still get the same error. I updated to the latest EBF as well. I'm now running 12.0.1.3759.

I read through the docs, but I didn't see anything about this specific issue. Additionally, I can't find any logs to help troubleshoot this.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

While you're waiting for an answer, try Foxhound... no fiddling required, just connect and bang! the monitor's running. Send me an email at breck dot carter at gmail dot com to get an evaluation key.

Thanks Breck.

I figured out the issue. There were a lot of java errors in /var/log/messages caused by SA Monitor not being able to the hostname. I added a host entry, and it's working now. Thanks anyway.
