The forum will be down for maintenance over the weekend of August 18-20, 2017. The forum will be shut down on the evening (EDT) of Friday, August 18. Downtime is unknown but may be up to two days. The forum will be restarted as soon as maintenance is complete.

I am beginning to suspect that the folder specified in dbsrv12 -ad is not relative to the current folder when dbsrv12 is started from (like everything else is), but relative to the folder containing the *.db file that is being recovered (which may be somewhere else). The Help only shows absolute paths, thus avoiding the issue.

Testing seems to confirm the answer is "yes"... for dbsrv12 -ad but not dbsrv12 -a.

Yes, -ad is relative to the directory containing the database file. I have added a DCX comment in the 12.0.1 docs to try to clarify this.
